Academy Award-winning Flashdance singer Irene Cara has died as a result of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. TMZ report.

acclaimed entertainer found dead in her body florida On November 25, 2022, aged just 63, she returned home and her publicist, Judith Moose, confirmed her passing.

Irene’s official cause of death was atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and documents from the Pinellas County coroner obtained by TMZ noted that Irene had diabetes.

“It is with great sadness, on behalf of her family, to announce the passing of Irene Cara,” Moose said in a statement. .”

This post was posted shortly after the death hoax about Cara, who starred in Fame and sang its theme. Many fans fear that the latest announcement could be part of another lie.

“I’m sorry if this is true, but I find it hard to believe after the hoax,” Twitter user Rachael L wrote in response to Moose. “On Friday (November 25), the actress’ rep officially confirmed that Irene Cara is not dead.

“She joins a long list of celebrities who have fallen victim to this hoax,” an earlier statement said.

But Moose acknowledged Saturday’s announcement was true, adding, “We are all shocked.”

Born in the Bronx as Eileen Escalera, Carla had humble roots. Her mother Louise was a cashier and her father Gaspar was a steel worker and musician.

Carla inherited her father’s talents and became a trained singer, actor and dancer, making numerous stage and television appearances as a child, including PBS and Johnny Carson’s The Tonight Show.

The performer then rose to fame in 1980 playing Coco Hernandez in the hit musical Fame.

She was nominated for two Grammy Awards for the musical, winning Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Artist.

Cara won a Grammy and an Oscar in 1984 for the title track of Flashdance starring Jennifer Beals.

She fell out of the limelight after suing her former record company over her earnings in the 1990s.

Moose wrote of Carla’s obituary:

The publicist also expressed sympathy to the performer’s fans over the recent death hoax.

“No one has been contacted about the hoax on the Facebook page.

The youngest of five children, Cara made her stage debut at the tender age of three and was a finalist in the 1962 Little Miss America Pageant.

The daughter of Puerto Rican and Cuban-American descent, Carla became a regular on PBS’s educational show, The Electric Company, after appearing on a Spanish-language TV show.

In addition to her television work, Cara has appeared in a number of Off-Broadway productions and her first major role came as the classic Sparkle Williams in the 1976 musical drama film Sparkle.

Before fame, Cara also had a lead role in the sequel to the 1979 classic Roots TV miniseries.

Although her stardom peaked in the 1980s, Carla continued to perform for decades, appearing in movies like DC Cab, City Heat, Downtown and Street Tale.

After Cara’s death was confirmed, fans of the iconic singer flooded social media to share their grief.

Twitter user Jimmy Pabolik said he’s loved Kara’s songs ever since he saw Fame as a kid.

“So sad to hear about the passing of Irene Cara. This song has stuck with me ever since I heard it when I was 12. My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans. RIP Eileen Kara.

Journalist and Disney alum Stephen McCoy wrote: She sent a gift package to my house.

Another Twitter user with the handle Cromwell described Cara as a 1980s soundtrack.

“This is so sad. Eileen was the lyricist, voice actor and performer of many of the greatest songs and movie tracks of the ’80s. #OutHereOnMyOwn on #Fame has a special place in my heart. Sleep well, lovely lady.”
